Karen Chaney has joined the HASANZ team as ImplementationSupport Manager. I'm looking forward to having her “on the ground" assistanceMondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at our Wellington office. As well as managingHASANZ's ongoing business and ensuring the delivery of key activities andprojects, Karen will be spending a lot of her time scoping the development of anational, online health and safety professionals register. This will involveunderstanding the implications, timing, cost and resourcing of differentoptions for delivering a register.
Karen holds a degree in International Business and has asolid background in project management. Prior to arriving in New Zealand fromthe UK in 2001 she worked in London in the telecoms industry as a projectmanager.
Her first job here involved working for a small consultancyspecialising in workplace H&S compliance in the energy sector. Theirinvestigation into a fatal accident at the Hayward's sub-station brought hometo Karen the importance of good workplace health and safety practice. Mostrecently, she led the Business team at the Energy Efficiency and ConservationAuthority.
