HASANZ Implementation Support Manager Appointed

Karen Chaney has joined the HASANZ team as Implementation Support Manager. I'm looking forward to having her “on the ground" assistance Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at our Wellington office. As well as managing HASANZ's ongoing business and ensuring the delivery of key activities and projects, Karen will be spending a lot of her time scoping the development of a national, online health and safety professionals register. This will involve understanding the implications, timing, cost and resourcing of different options for delivering a register.

Karen holds a degree in International Business and has a solid background in project management. Prior to arriving in New Zealand from the UK in 2001 she worked in London in the telecoms industry as a project manager.

Her first job here involved working for a small consultancy specialising in workplace H&S compliance in the energy sector. Their investigation into a fatal accident at the Hayward's sub-station brought home to Karen the importance of good workplace health and safety practice. Most recently, she led the Business team at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority.

Karen is the person you'll be dealing with when you contact HASANZ. We warmly welcome her.
