Phil Parkes, Chief Executive, WorkSafe New Zealand

Phil has over 20 years of experience in a variety of regulatory roles. Originally from the UK, he came to New Zealand in 2007 and has worked in senior leadership positions at local and central government agencies. Phil has been at WorkSafe for five years and, prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, was Chief Operating Officer. Before joining WorkSafe, he was the General Manager Policy & Legal at the Environmental Protection Authority.

Phil says, “I’m 100% committed to WorkSafe doing everything we can to improve health and safety in New Zealand. But we can’t do it alone. We all have a role to play in changing how we do our work every day – are you committed?”
